GET FIT AND STRONG WITH BODY BALANCE!

WHY DOES MY WHOLE BODY HURT?

Hello Ladies!

I’ll freely admit I’m not a sports fan and tend to be a bit lazy.
But as I suffered from increasing pain in my knees, hips and back as part of perimenopause, I had to do something about it.
I also inherited the glorious tendency towards osteoporosis from my mother and got diagnosed with osteopenia. I had no excuses, had to get out of my cozy comfort zone and find some sporting activity that would help me to get back on track!

“Exercise is the magic pill, the fountain of youth. It is the key to a healthy, happy and fulfilled life.” – Toni Sorenson

I was lucky! In the fitness studio just around the corner they offer Pilates, Yoga and Body Balance. All three activities are recommended for women going through menopause as they are not overly aggressive and combine important elements such as flexibility and stretching, balance, relaxation and strength training. Today I will talk to you about Body Balance as it combines several elements that can be quite beneficial for women in midlife.

WHAT EXACTLY IS BODY BALANCE?

Body Balance is a type of yoga-inspired workout that incorporates elements of Yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates. It’s a low-impact form of exercise that can help improve balance, flexibility, and strength. Here are some of the potential benefits of Body Balance for women in menopause:

Reduces Stress

Body Balance can help to reduce stress and anxiety, which are common symptoms during menopause.

Improves Balance

The yoga-inspired movements in Body Balance can help improve balance and stability, which can be particularly important for women in menopause who may experience changes in balance and coordination.

Increases Flexibility

Body Balance can help to increase flexibility and range of motion, which can be especially beneficial for women who may experience joint pain or stiffness during menopause.

Builds strength

Body Balance incorporates strength-building exercises, which can help to improve overall muscle strength and tone, especially in the core and upper body.

Enhances bone health

Body Balance includes weight-bearing exercises that can help to improve bone density, which is particularly important for women in menopause who are at increased risk for osteoporosis.

For me, Body Balance is a great form of exercise for women in menopause, as it can help to improve physical and mental well-being, while also being low-impact and accessible to people of all fitness levels.

However, it’s always best to check with a doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have any health concerns or underlying medical conditions.

Take care you beautiful people!
